Annex A (informative) Proof and reduced section testing
Defines the ring hydraulic pressure test for metallic tubes. In general, it is applicable to tubes with outside diameter greater than 120 mm and outside diameter to thickness ratio not less than 20. The test is aimed at ascertaining the value of the hoop stress required to produce a specified total circumferential (hoop) strain.
