This standard is used for evaluating a substrate's resistance to absorption of a selected series of liquid hydrocarbons of various surface tensions. It is meant to give a guide to oil stain resistance and can provide a rough index of oil stain resistance as generally, the higher the oil repellency grade the better resistance to stains by oily materials, particularly liquid oil substances.
