Diese ÖNORM enthält Bestimmungen über die Ausführung, Prüfung und Kennzeichnung von Türschlössern (Haupt- und Zusatzschlösser), Schliessblechen, Schliesszylindern und Türbeschlägen aus güteüberwachter Fertigung, die für den Einbau in einbruchhemmende Türen entsprechend der ÖNORM B 5338 geeignet sind. Diese Baubeschläge dürfen auch zur Nachrüstung bereits eingebauter Abschlüsse angewandt werden. Diese ÖNORM verweist auf Bestimmungen für weitere einbruchhemmende Nachrüstsysteme für Fenster und Türen nach DIN 18104-1 und -2 (ausgenommen Zusatzschlösser). Nicht unter den Anwendungs-bereich dieser ÖNORM fallen Fallengarnituren und Schlossgarnituren für gebohrte Aufnahmen sowie Schlösser für Schiebetüren. Auch Bänder und Bandsicherungen sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM.
