    In dieser ÖNORM werden die Anforderungen an Rohre aus Polyethylen (PE) festgelegt, die für die Versorgung mit Wasser für den menschlichen Gebrauch sowie die Fortleitung von Rohwasser, das zur Aufbereitung zu Trinkwasser verwendet wird, eingesetzt werden. Weiters werden auch die Prüfparameter für die Prüfverfahren festgelegt, auf die in dieser Norm verwiesen wird. Zusammen mit den übrigen Teilen der EN 12201 gilt dieser Teil für Rohre aus PE, deren Verbindungen untereinander und mit Rohrleitungsteilen aus PE sowie mit Rohrleitungsteilen aus anderen Werkstoffen, die zur Verwendung unter den folgenden Bedingungen vorgesehen sind: a) der maximal zulässige Betriebsdruck MOP beträgt nicht mehr als 25 bar (1 bar = 105 N/m2); b) es gilt eine Betriebstemperatur von 20 grad C als Bezugstemperatur.
