Dieser Teil von EN 12312 behandelt die technischen Anforderungen für Fluggasttreppen zur Minimierung der in Abschnitt 4 aufgelisteten Gefährdungen, die bei Inbetriebnahme, Betrieb und Wartung auftreten können, wenn diese in Übereinstimmung mit den Anweisungen des Herstellers oder seines Beauftragten ausgeführt werden. Er berücksichtigt auch einige Anforderungen, die von den Organen der Arbeitssicherheit und des Gesundheitsschutzes, Luftfahrzeug- und Bodengeräteherstellern sowie Luftverkehrs- und Abfertigungs-gesellschaften als wesentlich erachtet wurden.
