Diese Norm legt die Anforderungen u. die damit verbundene Klassifikation hinsichtlich der Nutzungssicherheit v. kraftbetätigten Toren fest. In der Norm wird ein kraftbetätigtes Tor als ganzes betrachtet. Solch ein Tor ist auch gegeben, wenn ein ursprünglich handbetätigtes Tor nachträglich mit einem Kraftantrieb ausgerüstet wurde. In diesem Falle ist die Norm nach erfolgter Umrüstung anzuwenden. Anforderungen f. besondere Eigenschaften (wie Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen Feuer, Druckwellen, Schall, Einbruch oder thermische Einwirkung u. die Fluchtwegfunktion), werden in dieser Norm nicht behandelt.
