Diese europäische Norm legt Profile für Laufflä chen von Rädern mit einem Durchmesser grösser oder gleich 330 mm, die an Fahrzeugen mit Standardspurweite verwendet werden, fest, um Interoperabilitätsanforderungen zu erfüllen. Diese Profile gelten für neue Räder sowie für Räder die im Zuge von Inspektionen erneuert werden. Von dieser europäischen Norm abweichende Profile dürfen nur nach einer Übereinkunft zwischen dem Zug- und dem Infrastrukturbetreiber eingesetzt werden.
