Dieses Dokument legt die Mindestanforderungen an Sicherheit und Leistung für die in EN 1846-1:1998 bezeichneten Feuerwehrfahrzeuge fest. Für Feuerwehrfahrzeuge werden im Regelfall handelsübliche Fahrgestelle oder Fahrzeuge eingesetzt. Bei Spezialfahrzeugen dürfen spezifische Fahrgestelle verwendet werden, um besonderen Anforderungen zu entsprechen. Dieses Dokument behandelt alle für Feuerwehrfahrzeuge signifikanten Gefährdungen, gefährlichen Situationen und Ereignisse, wenn diese entsprechend dem bestimmungsgemässen Gebrauch eingesetzt werden sowie unter Missbrauchsbedingungen, die vom Hersteller allgemein vorhergesehen werden können.
