Dieser Teil von EN 927 beschreibt die Leistungskriterien für Beschichtungssysteme auf Holz im Aussenbereich. Die Leistungskriterien werden nach den Anwendungskategorien und Beanspruchungsbedingungen (definiert in EN 927-1) anhand der Ergebnisse von Freibewitterungsprüfungen nach EN 927-3 festgelegt. Eine verbindliche Prüfung der Wasserdurchlässigkeit nach EN 927-5 wird ebenfalls beschrieben. Zusätzliche freiwillige Prüfungen werden angegeben, die von Herstellern angewendet werden können, um auf genormter Grundlage wahlweise zusätzliche Informationen über Leistungsaspekte bei speziellen Bauteilen wie Fenstern zu erhalten.
