Diese Internationale Norm legt die Prüfverfahren und Geräte fest, die zur Beurteilung von für das industrielle Waschen vorgesehener Arbeitskleidung aus Baumwolle und unterschiedlichen Polyester/Baumwolle-Mischungen verwendet werden können. Die Verfahren dienen als Grundlage zur Prüfung entsprechender Eigenschaften, wie z.B. Formbeständigkeit, Farbechtheit, Knitterbildung und fehlerhafte Nahtkräuselung. Diese Internationale Norm enthält keine Anweisungen und Festlegungen bezüglich Verfahren und Maschinen für die industrielle Wäsche.
