In dieser Norm ist das Verfahren zur Bestimmung der plastischen Verformbarkeit metallischer Werkstoffe im Biegeversuch festgelegt. Diese Norm wird angewendet für den Biegeversuch an Proben, die von metallischen Erzeugnissen nach entsprechenden Werkstoffnormen entnommen wurden. Sie ist nicht anwendbar auf spezielle Werkstoffe und/oder Erzeugnisse, z.B. Rohrabschnitte, Schweissverbindungen, für die es andere Normen gibt.
