It defines the characteristics of anodically generated oxide layers, specifies methods for checking the characteristic properties, specifies minimum performance requirements, provides information on the quality of the aluminum suitable for anodizing and addresses the importance of a pretreatment to ensure the required appearance or the structure of the finished workpiece.
