Diese ÖNORM behandelt in Ergänzung zu ÖNORM EN 13779 die Planung von Aussenluftbedarf, Brand- und Schallschutz-Massnahmen, Regelung und Steuerung, Ausführung sowie Betrieb und Wartung von kontrollierter mechanischer Be- und Entlüftung von Schul-, Unterrichts- oder Gruppenräumen sowie Räumen mit ähnlicher Zweckbestimmung (z. B. Seminar- oder Schulungsräume). Sonderunterrichtsräume (z. B. Lehrwerkstätten oder Lehrküchen, Turnsäle, Laboratorien) werden in dieser ÖNORM nicht behandelt.
