Die vorliegende ON-Regel Risikomanagement erstreckt sich auf das Risikomanagement von Organisationen und Systemen. Es wird aufgezeigt, wie die Risiken identifiziert, analysiert, bewertet und bewältigt werden können. Das Risikomanagement umfasst auch das Krisenmanagement sowie das Kontinuitätsmanagement. Das Risikomanagement-System stellt dar, wie man das Risikomanagement wirksam betreiben, aufrechterhalten und laufend verbessern kann. Dabei kann das Risikomanagement in das vorhandene Managementsystem eingebettet bzw. als selbständiges Risikomanagement-System ausgestaltet werden. Die vorliegende ON-Regel 49000 definiert die Begriffe und beschreibt die Grundlagen des Risikomanagements. Darunter fallen die Anwendungen und das Zusammenwirken mit anderen Führungsinstrumenten. Zu-dem werden die Ziele und die Grundsätze für das Risikomanagement dargestellt.
