Diese ÖNORM legt Anforderungen und Prüfbestimmungen für Gleitschutzvorrichtungen fest, die für die Ver-wendung auf Fahrzeugen der Klassen M[1], N[1], O[1], O[2] bestimmt sind und die bei bestimmungsgemässem Gebrauch ein Mindestmass an Gleitsicherheit bieten. Diese ÖNORM gilt nicht für konventionelle Schneeketten. Die Anforderungen von Schneeketten für die Verwendung auf PKW-Rädern und Rädern für leichte Nutzfahrzeuge und Anhänger sind ÖNORM V 5117 zu entnehmen.
