This part of IEC 61300 aims to sort single-mode PC-to-fiber ferrule connectors (physical contact, PC) of fiber patch cables or fiber optic pigtails as a function of return loss, thus ensuring the lowest return loss when the ferrule connectors are arbitrarily connected to each other during their use
