Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für Blei-Säure-Batterien, die für das Starten und die Zündung des Motors sowie die Beleuchtung von Personenkraftwagen und leichten Nutzfahrzeugen mit einer Nenn-spannung von 12 V verwendet werden. Alle Batterien nach dieser Europäischen Norm können am Fahrzeug mit den Bodenleisten um das Gehäuse herum oder mit einer Niederhaltevorrichtung, die in den Deckel eingreift, befestigt werden.
