Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM behandelt die Sicherheit gekapselter (hermetischer und halbhermetischer) Motorverdichter, ihre Schutzeinrichtungen und Steuerungssysteme, falls vorhanden, die zur Verwendung mit Geräten für den Hausgebrauch und ähnliche Zwecke vorgesehen sind und die den für solche Geräte anwendbaren Normen entsprechen. Sie gilt für Motorverdichter, die separat unter den härtesten Bedingungen, die im sachgemässen Gebrauch erwartet werden können, geprüft werden, deren Bemessungsspannung nicht mehr als 250 V für Einphasen-Motorverdichter und 480 V für andere Motorverdichter beträgt.
