Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für elektrische Dunstabzugshauben (einschliesslich ihres Zubehörs und ihrer Einzelteile) für den Hausgebrauch und ähnliche Zwecke. Unter ähnlicher Verwendung wird die Verwendung unter ähnlichen Bedingungen wie im Haushalt verstanden, z. B. in Gaststätten, Kaffeehäusern, Teestuben. Diese besonderen Anforderungen gelten für Dunstabzugshauben für die Filterung der Raumluft oder um die Luft aus dem Raum fortzuleiten. Sie gilt auch für Dunstabzugshauben mit externem Gebläse.
