Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für Schweissstromquellen zum Lichtbogenschweissen und für verwandte Prozesse für den gewerblichen Betrieb und für eine Netzspannung, die die in Tabelle 1 von ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 60038 angegebene nicht übersteigt, oder für mechanischen Antrieb. Sie legt Sicherheits- und Leistungsanforderungen für den Bau von Schweissstromquellen und Plasmaschneidsystemen fest. Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt nicht für Schweissstromquellen zum Lichtbogenschweissen für begrenzten Betrieb, die vorwiegend für den Gebrauch durch Laien vorgesehen sind. Sie gilt nicht für das Prüfen von Stromquellen bei periodischer Instandhaltung oder nach Reparatur.
