Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM behandelt die Festlegung physikalischer Schnittstellen von Laserdiodenbauelementen für Lichtwellenleiter- Kommunikationssysteme. Der Zweck dieser Norm ist die angemessene Beschreibung der physikalischen Anforderungen an einen Lichtwellenleiter-Sender, damit die mechanische Austauschbarkeit von Sendern, die dieser Norm entsprechen, ermöglicht wird. Dabei bezieht sich die Austauschbarkeit sowohl auf die Anforderungen für die gedruckte Leiterplatte als auch auf den Gehäuseeinbau.
