Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM EN legt Anforderungen und Verfahren fest zur Integration von Umweltaspekten in Gestaltungs- und Entwicklungsprozesse von elektrischen und elektronischen Produkten und Systemen, einschliesslich der Kombination von Produkten sowie der Materialien und Komponenten, aus denen sie bestehen (in der Norm nur noch allgemein als Produkte bezeichnet). ANMERKUNG Die Existenz dieser Norm hindert nicht bestimmte Sektoren, ihre eigenen, mehr spezifischen Normen oder Leitfäden zu entwickeln. Für die Entwicklung solcher Dokumente ist es empfehlenswert, die vorliegende Norm als Bezugsdokument zu nutzen, um Konsistenz im gesamten elektrotechnischen Sektor sicherzustellen.
