This Published Document is complementary to BS 6072 and covers the basic theory, magnetizing techniques, equipment and accessories, magnetic inks and powders, surf ate preparation, the viewing and preservation of indications and the appearance, interpretation and evaluation of flaw indications. The units employed in magnetic particle flaw detection and examples of iiieir use are described in appendix A. A bibliography is given in appendix B. For definitions of the terms used, see BS 3683 : Part 2.
