Defines three test methods to measure the polarization mode dispersion (PMD) of single-mode optical fibres of type B. Method A is a Fixed analyzer method; Method B is a Jones matrix eigen-analysis/state of polarization method; Method C is an Interferometric method. They can be applied to long and short fibres in the limits of both zero and strong polarization mode coupling.

Describes three test methods for measuring the polarization mode dispersion (PMD) of single mode optical fibres of type B. Applicable to both short and long fibres in the limits of both zero and strong polarization mode coupling.
