Gives a method of investigating the mechanical degradation of fibre reinforced plastics due to chemical paint strippers wetting it. The method described relates to the following aspects, which are to be determined: changes in stiffness and strength of plus or minus 45 degrees oriented tensile specimens immediately after wetting and drying or after wetting. This standard is applicable to composite laminates manufactured from unidirectional tape or woven fabric reinforcement.
