Gives the flatwise tensile test, which is the procedure for the determination of the tensile strength, perpendicular to the honeycomb sandwich panels. The specimen is designed to fail in one of the core to skin bonds. Also can be used to obtain compatibility and strength data on unidirectional and woven fabric laminates, structural adhesives and epoxy resin used for repair purposes.
