1.1 Form This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, forgings, and flash welded rings 4.000 inches (101.60 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and of stock of any size for forging and flash welded rings. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for parts which are machined after solution heat treatment and aging and are suitable for parts requiring high strength-to-weight ratios up to moderately elevated temperatures, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stresscorrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
