5 Measurement and determination of the focal spot size

Defines a procedure for measuring focal spot dimensions in the 5 um to 300 um range of X-ray systems up to 225 kV tube voltage, by means of radiographs of sharp edges. Resolution and image quality of X-ray images are dependent on features of the focal spot. Imaging qualities of the focal spot are based on 2 dimensional intensity distribution in the object plane. The radiographic technique is used for certification purposes.
