Applies to magnetic video recording and/or reproduction using 12,65 mm (0,5 in) tape cassettes on helical scan video cassette recorders suitable for broadcast applications. Applies to two recording modes: MODE I (uses oxide particle tape) and MODE II (uses metal particle tape and permits frequency modulated audio signals to be recorded). Coverage includes: environment and test conditions; definition of terms; scanner pole tips; helix angle; drum diameter and tape tension; dimensions and location of records; luminance and colour recording system; time and control code recording; tracking control recording. Also gives detailed diagrams and annexes.
