Defines a miniaturized procedure for detecting and enumerating major intestinal enterococci in surface and waste water by inoculation in a liquid medium. Applies to all kinds of surface and waste waters, especially those rich in suspended matter. Not intended for drinking water and other kind of water where the guideline count is under 15 per 100 ml.
