NC/NCI CODE DIRECTORY

The Network Channel (NC)/Network Channel Interface (NCI) Code Dictionary has been compiled to identify network channel requirements and associated interface specifications for services described in the LATA access tariffs. The defined codes are meant to be used with both manual and mechanized systems to describe these requirements and specifications as provided in these tariffs. The NC Code is an encoded description of the channel that is provided by the Exchange Carrier (EC) from Point of Termination (POT) at the InterLATA customer Point of Presence (POP) to an EC Central Office (Switched Access). The NCI Code is used to identify interface specifications associated with particular channels. This code describes the total wires, protocol, impedance, protocol options and transmission level point
