Purpose of this agreement is to respond to the following interoperability requirements: a) The proposed document will enhance interoperability for environmental protection functions on a NATO-led operation, b) this standard could allow NATO to operate effectively both together with forces of Partner nations and other non-NATO nations after adoption of the standard, and c) the harmonization of the methodology on how to document Environmental Protection throughout the lifecycle of NATO Camp and operation will facilitate the handover/closure phase of NATO Camps.
