Purpose of this NATO standardization agreement (STANAG) is to respond to the following interoperability requirements: - Achieve and maintain the required compatibility among the interfaces required to engage in boom-receptacle refuelling operations, to facilitate air-to-air refuelling between aircraft of NATO forces.
