This TA presents Bellcore's preliminary view of proposed generic requirements for a generic state model for managing network elements. Two state models are presented in this document. One is the Telecommunications Service State Model, which consolidates the state models previously described in several Bellcore documents and will be used in Transaction Language One (TL1) interface. The other model is the International Standards Organization (ISO) State Model defines in ISO/IEC 10164-2 for Common Management Information Service Element (CMISE) interface. This TA also defines extension to the ISO state model to meet Bellcore Clients' needs for managing their telecommunication networks. Also provided is a mapping between the two state models for facilitating interoperability among NEs
