GENERIC REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUAL SS7 TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CONTROLS AT COMMON CHANNEL SIGNALING (CCS) NETWORK NODES
01-10-1993
12-01-2013
Presents Bellcore's preliminary revised view of generic requirements for four (4) proposed manual control functions to be implemented at Common Channel Signaling (CCS) network nodes: Block Link Sets (BLS), Prohibit Signaling Address (PSA), Prohibit Calling Party Address (PCP), & Prohibit SCCP Translation (PST). The controls have the effect of selectively blocking CCS message traffic at the Message Transfer Part (MTP) & Signaling Connection Control Part (SCCP) layers of the Signaling System 7 (SS7) protocol. They are intended primarily to facilitate international node & network isolation actions as a possible means of assisting network traffic managers in containing propagating network failures & permitting network restoration.
