GENERIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ELEMENT MANAGEMENT LAYER (EML FUNCTIONALITY AND ARCHITECTURE)
12-01-2013
Provides Bellcore's preliminary view of proposed generic requirements for Element Management Layer (EML) functionality and architecture. It includes guidelines for a distributed control of operations for subnetworks. These preliminary views are based on a functional architecture that expands the traditional two level OS NE view to a multi layer model for resource management with emphasis on the ELM as defined in CCITT TMN Draft Recommendation M.3010. This shift to a multi layer functional model for resource management is intended to enable functionality to be more closely associated with the telecommunications network being managed and identifies a set of generic operations functions that is suitable for the EML.
