IRON IN PULP
23-07-2020
12-01-2013
A procedure for determining the iron content of pulp. The presence of iron in pulp can cause discolouration and problems in photographic and blueprint papers. The ash residue from the pulp specimen is dissolved in hydroxylamine hydrochloride, and diluted. The absorbence is measured at 510 nm on a spectrophometer or filter photometer. The iron is determined by comparing the absorbence of the specimen solution with that of a standard iron solution.
