COPPER IN PULP
23-07-2020
12-01-2013
Describes a procedure for the determination of copper in pulp. The pulp is ashed, the residue is treated with hydrochloric acid, and color is developed with diethyldithiocarbamate. The absorbence of a carbon tetrachloride extract is measured at 440 nm against that of a reference extract from a standard copper solution. Copper, if present in more than trace amounts, may interfere with the color of dyes to be used in the pulp.
