A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Applies to the determination of the relative "hardness," bleachability, or degree of delignification of pulp. It may be used on all types and grades of unbleached and semibleached pulps. The hypo numbers are related to lignin content in pulps and could be used also as an indirect method for the estimation of lignin content.
