Defines methods of measurement, verification of bit-exactness and minimum performance characteristics of IS-127-enhanced variable-rate speech codecs for digital cellular spread spectrum mobile stations and base stations. This standard shares the purpose of the most current editions of IS-98 and IS-97. This is to ensure that a mobile station can obtain service in any cellular system that meets the compatibility requirements of IS-95.
