This document is provided to discuss Bellcore's preliminary view of generic requirements for local power architectures that may be used to power the Optical Network Unit (ONU) providing existing telecommunications services in Fiber-In-The-Loop systems. In local powering, power, & reserve power are derived near the end of the loop in proximity to the Optical Network Unit (ONU).
