CCS NODE GENERIC REQUIREMENTS TO SUPPORT ROUTING VERIFICATION TEST

Superseded date

01-10-1999

Published date

12-01-2013

Presents Bellcore's view of proposed generic requirements & objectives for Common Channel Signaling (CCS) network node supporting MTP (Message Transfer Part) Routing Verification Test (MRVT) and SCCP (Signaling Connection Control Part) Routing Verification Test (SRVT). MRVT & SRVT are defined in the Operations, Maintenance & Administration Part (OMAP) of the Signaling System No. 7 (SS7) protocol. These tests provide a powerful tool for the detection & isolation of routing problems in CCS networks. They can be used for both intranetwork & internetwork testing. This issue specifically addresses the MRVT changes required to support E-Link sets & to provide a listing of the priority of the route selected by each STP crossed.
