GENERIC REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUAL LINK SET BLOCKING CONTROLS SUPPORTING NODE AND NETWORK ISOLATION ACTIONS AT COMMON CHANNEL SIGNALING (CCS) NETWORK NODES

Published date

12-01-2013

Sorry this product is not available in your region.

Establishes Bellcore's view of generic requirements for a manually directed signalling link set blocking function to be implemented at Common Channel Signalling (CCS) nodes. Known as the Block Link Set (BLS) control, this CCS operations feature may be used to block all user part signalling traffic on designated link sets by forcing their member links into a processor outage state. The control function is intended to help network operations personnel to isolate nodes and networks as a service protection measure during serious network outages in which CCS node failure modes or software errors result in message loss or in propagating network failures or congestion. These isolation capabilities should limit service disruption during network outages and help operations personnel in network recovery.
