Gives Telcordia's view of generic requirements for optical and optical/metallic buried service cable (sometimes referred to as drop cable) that should be met in order to meet the typical needs of a divested BOC. Included in this Technical Reference (TR) are functional design criteria; desired features and test methods for comparing the product against the stated generic requirements. The specified test methods are intended to reflect the operational conditions for optical fiber and cable analysis.
