    Provides the minimal design measures for protecting vehicles by earthing in order to: a) protect persons and animals from excessive contact voltages should they touch live defective metal parts, and b) ensure that the power circuit breaker in the sub-station is reliably tripped in the event of parts of the contact wire coming in contact with the vehicle.
