This standard covers systems intended for the protection of life and/or the protection of property.This standard covers systems with at least one fire detector. The systems may be capable of providing signals to initiate, in the event of a fire, the operation of ancillary equipment (such as fixed fire extinguishing systems) and other precautions and actions (such as machinery shutdown), but the standard does not cover the ancillary services themselves.This standard does not cover systems combining fire alarm functions with other non-fire related functions.This standard does not contradict EN 54-14, it completes the national requirements.
