The purpose of this standard is to establish the characteristics and manufacturing controls of polyethylene (PE 100 and PE 80), polypropylene (PP-R) and polybutylene (PB) batteries and manifolds with thermo welded joints for the centralization of water meters shall comply, As well as the materials to be used and the tests to be performed.This standard applies to water meters which supply a single building or community of neighbours, urbanization, industrial facilities, etc., for cold water in the case of PE-100 and PE-80 or hot and cold water In the case of PP-R and PB. The working pressure shall not be less than 1.6 MPa (16 bar) for the use of cold water. For the application of hot water, the battery shall meet the requirements of Class 2 (according to ISO 10508) design pressure 6 bar, and additionally service pressure of 16 bar for cold water.
