This standard establishes a method for determining the friction resistance of leather and synthetic materials, using a rubber element.The method intends to set test conditions similar to those given in the practical use of shoes subjected to high stress, for instance, in military footwear, hiking footwear and children's footwear, in which cases it is to be expected that friction will occur on the instep of one shoe and the sole of the other. The method is applicable to any type of leather and to synthetic materials intended for shoe uppers.
