This standard specifies a method for the evaluation of the ultimate biodegradability of dispersants and bioremediation agents under the action of aerobic microorganisms, by measuring the biological oxygen demand (BOD) in a manometric respirometer for 28 days. This method applies to dispersants and bioremediation agents and is meant to assess the biodegradability of the product through a BOD/COD (chemical oxygen demand) ratio.
