This standard specifies the requirements and associated test methods applicable to ductile iron pipes, fittings and joints, used as local external pipes to buildings, secondary or, as EN 805 defines:¾ð- to transport water for human consumption;¾ð- with or without pressure;¾ð- to be installed on or under the ground.This standard applies to pipes, fittings and accessories:¾ð made plain end and hood;¾ð provided with inner and outer coating;¾ð for conveying fluids between 0 and 30 ° C, excluding freezing.¾ð in areas where applicable regulations concerning fire.Note 1: This does not prevent fluids with special solutions can be used at higher temperatures.The terms, definitions and requirements for pipes of this standard are in many cases identical to those of the UNE-EN 545 and UNE-EN 12842 so referred to them in the right places.This standard applies to cast iron pipes molded by any manufacturing process in a range of diameters from DN / OD 63-160, inclusive, with PFA (allowable operating pressure) of up to 25 bar.This standard specifies requirements for materials, dimensions and tolerances, mechanical properties and standard coatings of pipes and fittings of ductile cast iron. It also sets out the performance requirements for all components including joints. The joint design is beyond the scope of this standard.Furthermore reference to the performance requirements of the sleeves and adapters manufactured for use with ductile iron pipes is made.NOTE 2 in this standard, all pressures are in bar (1 kPa 100 = 1 bar).
